Lekki Residents Jubilant As Government Promises To Return Inner Gates

MUST READ

Lekki Residents are in jubilation as the Lagos State Government announces the imminent return of inner street gates, according to Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.
The earlier decision to remove the gates, the commissioner said, was taken in the larger interest of all the residents to allow the free flow of traffic. This was at a meeting with the leadership of the resident association, the commissioner for transportation, and the commissioner for environment at Alausa.
Despite the regrettable removal, Wahab assured the resident association that a swift return of the gates would follow pending an agreement on re-installation modalities, with conditions including gates remaining open until midnight and manned by personnel for seamless entry and exit.
