MUST READ

In a bid to tackle persistent power challenges in Itedo Community, the Baale, Chief Ogunyemi John, has embarked on a fundraising effort to raise 1.3 million naira for the repair of a faulty transformer. In an interview with the Lekki Post, the Baale revealed that, after facing prolonged electricity issues, the community has decided to take matters into their own hands to ensure a timely resolution.

Upon consultation with an engineer, it was determined that the transformer’s repair would require an estimated sum of 1.3 million naira. The Baale expressed the urgency of the situation, stating that the community had exhausted other options and was left with no choice but to raise the necessary funds independently or seek the help of the government.

The Baale further expressed sadness about the untold hardship that the prolonged power outage has brought to the community. He said “The power outage has forced residents to resort to alternative energy sources, with generators becoming the primary source of electricity. Unfortunately, this has placed a heavier burden on poorer families who are left with no choice but to rely on more traditional and less efficient means such as lanterns and candles.”
